Intergenerational Glamour and Giving Supported During 2008 Glammys

Brookdale Senior Living is pleased to sponsor the recently-held Glamour in the City event, the annual fundraiser and awareness evening for GlamourGals. A non-profit organization, GlamourGals brings together two generations by training teenage volunteers to perform makeovers and spa days at senior living residences. During the fundraiser event in New York, Sara Terry, vice president of Optimum Life® for Brookdale, was honored to present Isabella Esposito with the Trailblazer Glammy award from GlamourGals.
"By having the honor of presenting at Glamour in the City, I earned a first-hand look at seeing our mutual goals coming together," said Terry. "The excitement and commitment during the event energized us all to continue and broaden our support."
Esposito, who started a GlamourGals chapter in Staten Island, N.Y. in November 2006 has led the chapter to grow from 12 volunteers to more than 30, and visiting more than six senior living residences. She is looking ahead, and plans to increase the number of homes to visit, recruit even more volunteers and increase fundraising efforts in her region.
"My experience as a GlamourGal provides me with a great deal of gratification," said Esposito. "I love seeing the happiness on the faces of our elder generation when we arrive for makeovers."
